This is a ray consisting of a bunch of dashes and a "greater than" sign at the end, almost resembling an arrow. Okay, enough of that. No, it IS an arrow pointing to the plus / minus sign at the far right of the post. This is called, for lack of a better word, your "karma-giver." It was a spree-of-the-moment kind of add to the forum.
KARMA is a kind of a small, worthless reputation point system. It simply states the a number that suggests if people generally appreciate what you contribute to the forum or if they don't, and to what degree. you can use the plus or minus on the side to give or take away points.
NOTE: YOU CAN ONLY START GIVING IF YOU HAVE TEN POSTS.
Don't take away points because someone said something you don't agree with, do it if you think they are putting someone else down, writing inane things, etc. This number isn't incredibly important, except for first-impressions. A -3000 karma might suggest a naked man with body piercings, tattoos, and a green orange mohawk at a job interview.
If people come crying to me about how it ruined their life, I'll think about taking it down but for now, just think of it as a social experiment.
